Cyprus
Cyprus reported hate crime data to ODIHR in 2020 (on 2019), and later submitted statistics on hate crimes committed between 2005 and 2020. Cyprus' law includes a general enhancement provision and substantive offences. The data reported to ODIHR do not present cases of hate crime and incitement to hatred separately. Data are collected by the Cyprus Police and its Office for Combating Discrimination, and are published online.

INTERNATIONAL REPORTS
Racist and xenophobic hate crime
The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) urged Cyprus to promptly investigate, prosecute and punish perpetrators of racially-motivated attacks and prevent their occurrence in the future.
KEY OBSERVATION
ODIHR observes that Cyprus has not reported on hate crimes separately from cases of hate speech.
