Хорватия регулярно предоставляет БДИПЧ данные о преступлениях на почве ненависти.
С 2006 года в Хорватии проводилась программа БДИПЧ по работе с правоохранительными органами (LEOP), за которой последовала обновленная программа «Обучение сотрудников правоохранительных органов мерам борьбы с преступлениями на почве ненависти» (ОБПН).
В 2021 году правительство приняло межведомственный "Протокол о мониторинге преступлений на почве ненависти", устанавливающий обязанности государственных органов в борьбе с преступлениями на почве ненависти и пересматривающий обязанности специальной Рабочей группы по мониторингу преступлений на почве ненависти. В 2021 году Рабочая группа приняла участие в диагностическом семинаре БДИПЧ по оценке национальных структур и сервисов поддержки жертв преступлений на почве ненависти, по итогам которого БДИПЧ подготовило ряд рекомендаций для соответствующих государственных органов. Данные о преступлениях на почве ненависти регулярно публикуются Управлением по правам человека и правам национальных меньшинств при правительстве.

The police figure includes two incidents committed with a "regional affiliation" motive, which are not sanctioned by the criminal code and therefore not included in breakdown below. The reported prosecution figures include cases initiated during the previous years. The prosecuted cases include only those where an indictment was filed – unlike in previous years, which explains the year-to-year drop in number.

Racist and xenophobic hate crime, Anti-Roma hate crime, Anti-LGBTI hate crime
In its fifth report on Croatia, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) observed that many cases of hate crime, especially those targeting Serbs, LGBT people and Roma, are only classified as misdemeanours. ECRI recommended that the bias motive be incorporated from the very beginning in investigations and training for police officers and judicial officials.
