Соединенные Штаты регулярно предоставляют БДИПЧ данные о преступлениях на почве ненависти. Данные о преступлениях на почве ненависти публикуются ежегодно.
После проведения в 2021 году Федеральным бюро расследований (ФБР) обзора преступления на почве ненависти были включены в категорию приоритетов высшего уровня (Band 1 National Threat Priority), что привело к увеличению ресурсов, выделяемых на борьбу с преступлениями на почве ненависти. Сотрудничая с национальной Коалицией по борьбе с преступлениями на почве ненависти, ФБР проводит тесные консультации с организациями гражданского общества (ОГО), в том числе для разработки и обновления Руководства и обучения ФБР по сбору данных о преступлениях на почве ненависти.
В 2020 году Министерство юстиции выпустило всеобъемлющий "Отчет круглого стола представителей правоохранительных органов о преступлениях на почве ненависти", в котором изложены основные рекомендации и меры по борьбе с преступлениями на почве ненависти.

The FBI reports data based on 'offences'. This number can include multiple biases, but only offences with one recorded bias are shown in the bias motivation breakdown. The vast majority of hate crimes in the United States are prosecuted at the state and local level, for which no figures are available. There were 21 instances reported in which the hate crime adjustment was applied in accordance with the sentencing guidelines issued by the US Sentencing Commission.
