Венгрия регулярно предоставляет БДИПЧ данные о преступлениях на почве ненависти. В 2012 году Главное управление национальной полиции создало специальную сеть по преступлениям на почве ненависти, которая контролирует расследование преступлений на почве ненависти. В том же году была создана рабочая группа гражданского общества по борьбе с преступлениями на почве ненависти с целью укрепления сотрудничества с полицией и разработки списка индикаторов предубеждения, которые были приняты сетью и размещены в интранете полиции. В 2018 году Министерство внутренних дел провело семинар по регистрации преступлений на почве ненависти и сбору данных. Семинар проводился совместно с БДИПЧ и Агентством ЕС по основным правам, и по его итогам был подготовлен ряд рекомендаций для соответствующих государственных органов.

The number presented here as recorded by the police represents aggregate number of hate crimes recorded by both police and Prosecutor's Office. The reported statistics were only broken down by type of crime and, in some cases, by target. The breakdown by bias motivation presented below is based on this information and does not amount to the authorities' monitoring of individual bias motivations in each registered hate offence.
