Pink Armenia, Human Rights Watch (HRW) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported a physical assault carried out by a group that caused serious injuries to two transgender people; and a series of threats against LGBT activists. Pink Armenia and the UNHCR also reported a physical assault on a gay man in a military hospital; and threats against an LGBT activist. Pink Armenia reported an additional physical assault by a group on a transgender person, during which the victim’s phone was stolen; two physical assaults on gay men; and two incidents of threats against LGBT people and activists.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) supported a training event addressing hate crimes against LGBT people for the employees of the Asylum and Legal Units of the State Migration Service of Armenia.
In its fourth report on Armenia, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) recommended that alleged racist, homophobic and transphobic motivations be considered in the investigation of violent incidents from their very beginning.
ODIHR observes that Armenia has not reported reliable statistics on hate crimes to ODIHR.
