The Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Anti-Semitism published its final report, which recommended introducing national standards relating to hate crime for police services across the country and to report and analyse data, including a breakdown of crimes by bias motivation, as part of the annual Uniform Crime Reporting Survey.
In connection with the above, the Canadian Government signed the Ottawa Protocol on Combating Antisemitism, which calls for leaders of faith groups to combat hatred and discrimination, including anti-Semitism; for governments to reaffirm and implement the United Nations 1948 Genocide Convention; for the establishment of an international task force to identify and monitor hate on the Internet; and for the development of a comprehensive system to record all hate crimes.
